The story about a drug bust in Massachusetts where a 'pit bull' was shot got wide distribution this week.  As KC Dog Blog so wryly points out when these pieces surface, as usual the headline was about the dog, not the crooks.  Priorities and all that.

Wareham pit bull was wearing muzzle when it was shot

Police say the dog was still a danger to officers because the nylon muzzle was loose.
