My good friend and comrade-in-arms over at Blue Dog State has given me a Superior Scribbler Award.

I don't know if I deserve it, but I plan to keep it, hence my haste in posting this announcement before BDS finds out a mistake was made.

I, in turn have to nominate five other bloggers - that appears below.

The rules for this are simple:

"Of course, as with every Bloggy Award, there are A Few Rules. They are, forthwith:
  • Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most-deserving Bloggy Friends.
  • Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author & the name of the blog from whom he/she has received The Award.
  • Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on his/her blog, and link to This Post, which explains The Award.
  • Each Blogger who wins The Superior Scribbler Award must visit this post and add his/her name to the Mr. Linky List. That way, we'll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives This Prestigious Honor!
  • Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog.

Note:  When you go to put in your 'name', use your blog name, not your real name as I mistakenly did.

A lot of the doggy bloggers I would have nominated have already won awards, so I'll be branching out a bit.

How did I choose?  It wasn't easy, believe me.  I could have added more to this list (K-9 Solutions, The Dog Blog, YesBiscuit!, What Fresh Hell is This?, FrogDog Blog just for starters) so I decided to focus on a few things:  sincerity, sole proprietorship and a strong point of view.

Here they are, in no particular order:

1.  One Bark at a Time - a new blog by a good writer who volunteers at Toronto Animal Services.  He has a flair for humour and provides lots of variety which keeps me going back.

2.  KC Dog Blog - I don't know whether KC's been awarded a badge yet, but if not, he gets one now.  You can't beat KC for digging deep and providing the analysis that debunks many of the myths about dog ownership in North America today.  He's from Missouri, after all - the Show Me state.

3.  Social Mange deserves an award for her fearless castigation of wicked politicians and their blind followers.  She should post more often but hey, we all go through slow times.  She's a cat lady, in more ways than one!

4.  The Opinion Mill - excellent writing, needle-sharp snark, interesting finds and more.  TOM was the first blog I ever commented upon and I've been addicted ever since.

5. Red Star Cafe - artsy, thoughtful and always on the money, RSC covers an array of topics including animal welfare.  A class act and a peaceful place to visit when things get hairy out here.
