Looks as though Skeldon's mission to kill all the 'pit bulls' isn't working very well. Dog bites are supposedly way up in Lucas County where he The ruling on the unconstitutional 'pit bull' ban in Toledo is expected in about a month. The City appealed to Ohio Supreme Court when it lost the case last year. My, my, what a coincidence that bites are up and the ban may very well be down.

Great column over at Townhall (I know, I know) about 'pit bulls'. I found it uplifting and I hope you do too. Read 'Pit Bulls and Stupid Fools' by Doug Giles. Hey, here's another one in the New York Post, 'Pits are Legit' by a columnist who does rescue. Two well written, sensible columns in one day? You don't think the message is getting through at last, do you? Naw, it couldn't be...could it? Could this thing be about to turn around? Wow...that would be wonderful... Saturday, July 21

Well, looky here, another attack on a child by a dog from the Gundog group. Wonder if this story will have legs? Nah, I doubt it. Even though conformation Labs look a lot like double coated bull-and-terrier types these days, they just don't have the cachet, 'star quality' if you like, of your average DOLA dog. Dogs' Home is what they call shelters in the UK. But you knew that.

In this article, we learn that the child received minor injuries. Apparently, the dog just snapped at her when she went to pat the puppies, despite being told not to do it. Yeah, those 'pit bulls' are mean dogs, alright. Hope the backyard breeder has learned something. Keep people under control when you have pups and don't let people interact with your dog on the street if he/she has short hair or a boxy head. Some trog might call you in.

The other day, the headline was Rollerblader Attacked by Rottweiler and Owner. At the time, I suspected that the incident had been perpetrated by a drug addict or madman. It's worse. The person arrested was a civil servant, Thursday, July 19

PetPAC is a new organization formed to defend pet owners' rights. It started with AB1634 and is off to a very impressive start. In only a few months, thousands of members have signed up, lots of money has been raised and they've staged some great PR events, such as having Lassie in Sacramento when Lloyd Levine pulled his infamous Unhealthy Pets Act from the roster. What's even better is that the AR wankers are whining and crying 'foul' Pot, meet kettle..he he he. So, how do I join? Got a Canadian branch yet? Want one? Here's an article about PetPAC in the LA Times. via Social Mange Wednesday, July 18

Gee, bad year for the animal haters at Peta. They were tried earlier in the year for killing adoptable dogs and cats within minutes of picking them up and dumping the bodies in a nearby bin behind a grocery store. They got off too lightly in that case, if you ask me. Now, another one of their zombies is being tried for dognapping, a felony in Virginia. CCF has the details. |
