KC Dog Blog has a very extensive Weekly Roundup today.

I don't know how he keeps track of the articles, I have 90 in my GoogleBot folder from the last couple of days relating to 'pit bulls', dog bites and breed bans.

This media fad is taking a long time to fade away.  Hope that happens soon.

View Article  NOTES ON COURT PROTOCOL FOR ONTARIO DOG OWNERS
By having supporters show up, I mean attend court. Please read this if you haven't been to court before - this request for attendance is not to participate in a demonstration, although if you feel like organizing that, it's your call. We want people to enter court, attend the hearing and that's why I'm reposting these guidelines, originally posted on May 4, 2006. Hope to CU There!   more »

View Article  ONTARIO CHALLENGE: DATE SET FOR REMEDY ARGUMENTS

Date:  Thursday, June 28, 2007

Place:  To be confirmed - either 361 or 393 University Avenue, Toronto

Time:  10:00 am

Once the courthouse has been finalized I will be posting more details.

This is our last shot at the Ontario challenge.  The discussions will pertain to what should best be done with the amendments to Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, so fiendishly devised and callously implemented by soon-to-be-former Attorney General Michael J Bryant.

Now that significant erosion of the law has occurred, the judge must decide the best course of action.

This hearing is important and we want as many supporters as possible to show up.

Watch this space for the final arrangements.  Hope to see everybody there who can make it.

No Pit Bull Bans is running a story about the New Jersey 'guardianship' law, backed by your local AR extremists of course.  NPBB even has some lovely quotes from Peta, HSUS and other dangerous fanatics who don't want you to have a dog.

Check it out and don't forget to tell your friends.

View Article  HSUS HAS A BAD HARE DAY

What a shame, politicians are questioning the credibility of Wayne Pacelle of HSUS.

Sounds as though his usual dog and pony show didn't go over very well with the US House Agriculture Committee.

No Pit Bull Bans has the details and a link to the original article.

View Article  DOG BITES KID IN GUELPH

This is the third incident in Guelph over the past couple of weeks and summer isn't here yet.  None of the bites would have been reported even a decade ago, but these days I guess anything goes to fill up space.

This time, it was supposedly a Doberman.

Good thing Bryant's got all the big, bad 'pit bulls' locked down.

View Article  PET FOOD RECALL NEWS

Uh-oh. According to the Pet Connection, another recall may be coming our way.

Crooks and Liars has links to more info about the spread of the contamination.

I'm still wondering what happened to the Aminopterin discovered by Cornell University.  Maybe that was a deliberate adulteration of one batch done to put people off buying commercial foods for their pets.
