A big Thank You to everybody who jumped on board and
supported Banned Aid's recent emergency fundraising drive. All dog owners are threatened by BSL, not just those who own the targeted breeds - it's nice that so many people realize that.
You may have noticed that the Bone-O-Meter has been filled in and that we exceeded what we needed to pay our outstanding bills. We have enough to file with the Supreme Court of Canada for leave to appeal our case to have Here's a slide show done by a member of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of Canada to acknowledge the great support. ![]() I've just updated the Bone-O-Meter over at the left, we are getting closer to our goal with each passing hour. Who's Helping? Click here to find out! The Rottweiler Club of Canada, Saluki Club of Canada, Manchester Terrier Club of Canada, Pomeranian Club of Canada, the Thousand Island Kennel Club and a lot more clubs and individuals from across the country have jumped on board to help us defeat breed-specific laws in Canada. Businesses are onside, donating money to the cause. Lori has the information over at Wag the Dog. If you live in the Peterborough area, Boston Pizza, the north location only, is donating 10% of all sales from this Saturday, January 17 to Banned Aid! Donations are coming in quickly - a huge thanks to everybody who has helped at this crucial time. At the end of January we will complete a detailed list of everyone who has contributed to the legal fund. Otherwise, we'll forget somebody and we don't want that to happen because every single person who has come to the aid of this case both now and in the past deserves a pat on the back. I note that nobody enthused over the stunning Bone-O-Meter I created, mostly by hand. Fancy software? We don't need no stinkin' fancy software. We don't like to waste money. It all goes to the court, the lawyers and the experts - because what we need is to win this case and have the cruel, thoughtless and useless Ontario ban on domestic dogs struck down, torn up, set on fire and pissed on by 'pit bulls'. Maybe we'll do that at Queen's Park this summer. In the meantime, let's keep the heat on to put us over the top. We're all in this together and the past few days have proved that. Help us turn that big bone blue! Tuesday, January 13

ALERT: The constitutional challenge to represent the collective, national interest of responsible dog owners is in dire straits.
We started at $107,000 in December and are
now 67,000 $56,000 $52,300 $49,000 (this is unbelievable!) shy of being able to have our voices heard in
BIG BROTHER, DAVID AND GOLIATH
On-SCARIO ( AKA Ontario Canada ) has flagrantly wasted tax payers dollars to act as Goliath against our David ( Banned Aid Coalition ) to ban any "substantially similar" dogs to the banned pure bred dogs, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and American Pit Bull Terriers.
NOW WHO IS THE BULLY?
Over 4000 dogs are dead, even puppies - because of the way they look, not the way they behave.
In

It simply doesn't matter whether you like the bully dogs or not. It is now a matter of sending a message to government that we are no longer willing to allow politicians to sacrifice the lives of innocent dogs.

Hats off to the Saluki Club of Canada. They have donated $1,000 to the Ontario legal fund and have issued a challenge to other breed clubs to do likewise.
Here's the note they sent out and apparently it's spreading fast: The Banned Aid group is trying to raise another $67,000 in the next two weeks to take OUR breed-specific-legislation fight to the Supreme Court of Canada. In time, this legislation WILL affect all dog owners – and breeds – across Canada. Italy’s initial list of just 13 breeds has exploded to 96, and now includes the Bernese Mountain Dog, Collie, Sheltie, Corgi, Old English Sheepdog, Berger des Pyrenees, Newfoundland, St. Bernard, Leonberger, Boxer and Australian Shepherd, to name just a few. These last five breeds, along with 70 other breeds, already appear on lists right here in North America! WE CAN’T AFFORD NOT TO DO OUR PART. Over the past few years, the Saluki Club of Canada and many of its members have financially supported this fight. At our recent AGM in December we increased our pledge to $1,000! We would like to challenge other breed clubs to match – or beat! – our donation. Please rise to the challenge and donate today at www.dlcc.ca – every dollar counts! Thanks to the Saluki club for their ongoing support! Together, we can win this. Monday, December 1
